Sunday, September 10, 2006
Mike Abrams, Los Altos/Mountain View District's 2006 Community Service Award recipient, was honored on Tuesday at a special luncheon at Michael's at Shoreline in Mountain View. Abrams, a resident of Los Altos, was nominated by the Los Altos Cultural Association.
The Community Service Award is presented each year to an individual whose service exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills or Mountain View.
Abrams is the Los Altos/Mountain View District's 43rd Annual Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS(r) Community Service Award recipient. He also received proclamations from U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo (CA 14th District) and California State Assemblymember Sally Lieber (Assembly District 22) in his honor.
Abrams had an active career in sales and had an import company before he retired in 1995, but he has especially shined due to his longtime volunteer work in the schools and community, said Frey. She said Abrams' tremendous amount of volunteer work has been very broad-based and ongoing over the years in the Los Altos schools, the Los Altos Cultural Association, the YMCA and other groups.
