2007 Awards Presented at Palo Alto District Meeting

Monday, December 17, 2007

SILVAR's Palo Alto District Realtors and affiliates marked their last meeting of 2007 with a holiday breakfast and award presentations. Nadr Essabhoy, 2008 Palo Alto District Chair, began by thanking all the members of the District for participating in meetings and events during 2007.

Special thanks and plaques of appreciation were presented to the 2007 District Council: Michael Hall, Community Outreach Committee Chair for Partners in Education; Raj Naidoo and Caroline Wolf, Affiliate Committee Co-Chairs; Nancy McLeod, Broker/Manager Committee; Tobi Baldwin, Communication Committee; John St. Clair, Community Outreach RSVP Committee; Leon Leong, Local Government Relations Committee; Carrole Phillips, Social Committee; Anne Arjani,  Technology Committee; Judy Ellis, Membership Committee; Martine Heyer-Boot, Broker Tour Committee.

Leannah Hunt and Dante Drummond were also thanked for serving as members-at-large for the District. The District likewise thanked Lisa Wittkopf for her work behind the scenes at the many events this year.

Essabhoy announced Leannah Hunt will be SILVAR's 2008 president, and Julia Keady, SILVAR's 2008 President-elect. Hunt and SILVAR's 2008 Board of Directors will be installed on Thursday, January 10 at the Sharon Heights Country Club in Menlo Park. Hunt invited all members of the District to attend the event and continue to be active members of the Association.

On behalf of the Palo Alto Realtors and affiliates, Essabhoy presented the District's 2007 special awards to Martine Heyer-Boot, Committee Chair of the Year; Carrole Phillips, Community Outreach Award; Caroline Wolf, Affiliate of the Year; and Julia Keady, Realtor of the Year. Upon presenting Keady the award, Essabhoy, who takes over the reins from Keady as District Chair in 2008, fondly noted Keady has been a valuable mentor and through her work and service she "has taken the Palo Alto District and SILVAR up to the next level."
