HIF Benefit Committee Gears Up for Halloween Fundraiser Friday, April 18, 2008

The HIF (Housing Industry Foundation) Benefit Committee stepped up preparations for SILVAR’s annual Halloween fundraiser benefiting the Housing Industry Foundation (HIF), by hosting a mixer for SILVAR members on Friday, April 18. At the mixer, members learned more about SILVAR’s biggest charity event from committee members and chair Dale Anne Collings and HIF Executive Director Debbie Wade. HIF is a non-profit charity which helps individuals and families in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties remain in stable housing. Emergency Housing Grants are at the core of HIF’s homeless prevention program. These grants assist individuals or families with rent, mortgage, utilities, security deposits and certain repairs on a one-time emergency basis. HIF’s administrative costs are covered by donations from HIF board members, so 100 percent of all funds raised from SILVAR’s Halloween fundraiser go directly to HIF programs. For over a decade, SILVAR Realtors and affiliates have supported HIF through the annual Halloween fundraiser. People come to the event in creative costumes (optional) and enjoy a gourmet buffet, live and silent auctions, a raffle, live music and dancing. This year’s event is slated for Friday, October 24.
