Fashion Seminar Teaches Style Can Be "Effortless"

Thursday, April 8, 2010

SILVAR member Nancy MacLeod is pictured here sporting a casual but elegant outfit. She was among six SILVAR members who modeled different attire at the fashion seminar.

Approximately 50 people had fun learning about how to enhance and update their look at Wednesday’s “First Impressions” Fashion Seminar at bloomingdale’s Stanford in Palo Alto. Presented by the Palo Alto District’s Affiliate Bank, the event featured DJ music, a reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres, demonstrations on the latest products and make-up, and the latest in spring fashion.

According to Lorence Manansala, bloomingdale’s At Your Service manager and stylist, style “should be effortless.” SILVAR members, serving as models, showed the audience it can be done. One by one Wendi Selig Aimonetti, Nancy MacLeod and husband Guillaume Peters, Orion Mente, Jennifer Kane and Paulo Sanchez paraded down the aisle, sporting different attire. Manansala then showed the audience how to mix and match outfits and accessories to suit different occasions.

SILVAR affiliate Jimmy Kang (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage) chaired the event. He thanked bloomingdale’s Stanford for the accommodations and partnering with the affiliates to put on the event. The models sported attire and products from Ralph Lauren Polo, DKNY, Hugo Boss, Wacoal and Estee Lauder.

A special thanks to the event’s affiliate sponsors Tom Anderson (Clutterboy), Connie Prince (Allied Brokers Insurance), Jeanne DePolo (DePolo Photography), Sejal Parekh (innovae designs) and Michelle Rogers (Home Instead Senior Care).
