Charitable Foundation Presents $2,500 to C.A.R. in Palo Alto

Thursday, November 9, 2006

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation presented a check for $2,500 to Communication Association for Rehabilitation in Palo Alto . At Palo Alto ’s Realtor Tour Meeting on Friday, Nov. 3. Diana Sumner, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, presented the grant on behalf of the Charitable Foundation to Imogene Chancellor, board member of Communication Association for Rehabilitation.

For the past two years, the Community Association for Rehabilitation has received grants from the Charitable Foundation that were used to fund the salary of an educator who was able to provide critical intervention services to at-risk infants in the Bay Area. Sumner said the Charitable Foundation is proud to again be of assistance to C.A.R. and the important work of its Infant Development Program. The grant of $2,500 will be used to fund a Spanish-speaking interpreter and will allow C.A.R. to provide therapy to infants, parent training, education, and support to Spanish-speaking parents.

C.A.R. is located in Palo Alto and assists the developmentally and otherwise disabled population in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties . The Infant Development Program provides early intervention services to more than 150 high-risk infants from birth to three years of age. This program is the only comprehensive bilingual program of this nature in Palo Alto.

“Thank you to all the donors to the Charitable Foundation who make it possible to assist those who do this important work in our community,” said Sumner.

This donation by the Charitable Foundation Trust has been made possible in part by sponsorship from the Heritage Bank of Commerce.
