Bay Area REALTORS® to Gather for Second Multicultural Real Estate SummitThursday, September 4, 2008
- For Immediate Release – Members of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) and other Bay Area REALTORS® continue to seek ways to better serve their clients, especially with current changes in today’s real estate market. The Second Annual Bay Area Multicultural Real Estate Summit will bring together representatives of 17 associations on Friday, Sept. 26, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Union City. The theme of this year’s multicultural initiative is “Empowering the Real Estate Professional.” The summit will feature education classes, a luncheon with keynote speakers California Department of Real Estate Commissioner Jeff Davi and National Chairman of National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals Rebecca Gallardo, followed by a multicultural top producer panel with SILVAR Board Director Nadr Essabhoy and other top REALTORS® from the participating associations. A networking reception will be held in the afternoon, following the panel and classes. There will also be an all-day expo, which will give different companies the opportunity to present information about their products and services. The 17 organizing associations include the Asian Real Estate Association of East Bay, Chinese American Real Estate Association, Chinese Real Estate Association of America, Filipino American Real Estate Professionals Association, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals of Alameda County, San Francisco and Silicon Valley, South Asian Real Estate Association of America, eight REALTOR® associations - Bay East Association of REALTORS®, Berkeley Association of REALTORS®, California Association of Realtors, Contra Costa Association of REALTORS®, San Francisco Association of REALTORS®, San Mateo County Association of REALTORS®, Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS®, Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®, and one title company, Fidelity National Financial. The summit is supported by a National Association of REALTORS® Diversity Grant, and the following sponsors: Platinum: Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; Gold: Bank of America and Property ID; Silver: WHB Solution; Corporate: Key Point Credit Union and Bank of the West; Business: Oakland Association of REALTORS® and Bankers Exchange Services. Educational courses will cover topics like investing in commercial real estate, FHA loans, 1031 exchange, international real estate certification and working with multicultural clients. SILVAR and 10 other real estate professional associations began the initiative last year. The mission of the summit is to bring real estate professionals from all cultures together, and learn from each other about how to better serve the fast growing multicultural real estate communities in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara. Last year’s event was attended by over 300 real estate professionals, service providers and government officials.
