At the Los Gatos/Saratoga District holiday breakfast this morning, 2011 District Chair Doug Evans thanked members for their support all year. He especially thanked Vice Chair Chris Rasmussen, and the District Council, particularly Shawn Carroll and Matt Paulo, who assisted in the District's charity golf tournament in July.
The District then presented $1,000 to the Los Gatos Library, which Evans noted were part of the proceeds from the golf tournament. Accepting the check for the library and thanking members for the donation were Carol Hamilton, president of the Los Gatos Friends of the Library, grant writer Rita Baum and former mayor and current chair of the Once in a Generation Campaign Sandy Decker.
Members were entertained at their breakfast by Bill Anders of Factory Direct Carpet who sang and played songs on his ukulele and opera singer Tom Truhitte. Evans later recognized affiliates Janet Thrasher of Thrasher Termite & Pest Control, and Wendy Tomaro of Old Republic Title Company for their support of District programs and events, including the golf tournament.
