CIPS Students Learn About Europe
The Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) elective course on Europe & International Real Estate was held virtually this week with 17 students from the Bay Area, other parts of California, and around the country. The course, taught by Christel Silver, provided insight on working with clients in Western and Central Europe. Topics included the European Union and its impact on international real estate, economic and real estate trends, networking and relationship building, and marketing and selling practices. Michel Sawall, a real estate agent from Berlin, logged in from Germany and shared information about how real estate is conducted there.
The CIPS designation courses provide training in international business issues, including currency conversion, cultural awareness, legal and tax requirements, transaction principles of international real estate, and specifics about the real estate markets in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. The next CIPS course is The Americas & International Real Estate, taught by Silver next Tuesday, May 17. Sponsor of the Day is Chenay Jordan, International Referral Network Director with ECI Development. Jordan will speak on how REALTORS® can bring value to an outbound global transaction, with special emphasis on Central America.
The course on Asia/Pacific & International Real Estate will follow on Tuesday, June 7, and will be taught by Fanny Y. Chu. Tuesday, May 24, is the last day to avail of the early bird discount of $100 for this class.
