REALTORS® congratulate 2013 board of Asian American real estate group's Silicon Valley chapter

Members of the real estate industry congratulated the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) Silicon Valley chapter's 2013 president, officers and board of directors at the group's installation held Dec. 12 at the Fahrenheit in San Jose. Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) member Joe Han and the 2013 AREAA SV leadership team were installed by Jim Park, 2013 AREAA national chair.

Joining Han at the helm of the local AREAA chapter are Evan Huynh (iSmart Realty and Investments, Inc.), vice president; Jimmy Kang (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage), treasurer; Lana Nguyen (Farmers Insurance Group), secretary; Michael Ramos (Intero Real Estate Service), event chair; Christine Ko (Bridgepointe Group), technology/social media chair); Curtis King (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage), membership chair; Ugesh Singh (RE/MAX Accord), director; Ashley Le (Century 21-Alpha), director; and Christine Kim (Bridgepointe Group), advisory board.

Han is the managing broker of Keller Williams Realty in Cupertino. Han said he wants "to grow the association, strengthen relations between the AREAA and SILVAR, and expand AREAA's outreach to the Asian American community in Silicon Valley."

Congratulating Han and the 2013 AREAA board members at the event were SILVAR 2012 president Suzanne Yost, president-elect Carolyn Miller, 2013 president-elect David Tonna and executive officer Paul Cardus.

"We congratulate Joe Han and AREAA's leadership team. We are happy to partner with AREAA to achieve their goals and extend our support to its members," said Miller, who will be formally installed as SILVAR's 2013 president on Jan. 10. "We look forward to continue working together in 2013 with AREAA to widen opportunities for all."

The Asian Real Estate Association of America is a nonprofit professional trade organization founded in 2003 and dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American communities and advocating for policy positions at the national level that will reduce homeownership barriers facing Asian Americans. AREAA's membership represents real estate, mortgage and housing-related professionals that serve the diverse Asian American market.

AREAA's Silicon Valley chapter was founded by Christine Kim in 2010. The local chapter's goals include advocating for policy positions at the national level that will reduce homeownership barriers facing Asian American communities; educate and support business opportunities for members; and serve as a unified voice for local Asian American homeowners and real estate professionals.
