The 2016 president, officers, directors and advisors of the Asian Real Estate Association of America Silicon Valley (AREAA SV) were formally installed in January at Club Auto Sport in San Jose. Representatives from the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®, neighboring REALTOR® associations and other real estate professionals in the Bay Area, including AREAA officials from other chapters around the country, attended the event and congratulated the 2016 AREAA Silicon Valley leadership.

Comprising the 2016 AREAA SV Executive Board are Mike Bui (Equity One Real Estate), president; Atsuko Yube (Global Restate Link), past president; Michelle Lin (Red Wave Insurance Services), vice president; Katy Care (The Loan Story), secretary. The 2016 board directors are Andy Chung (Alain Pinel Realtors), Ran Huang (Chicago Title Company), Thomas Duong (Banc Home Loans), Jagi Shahani (Alain Pinel Realtors), Coco Tan (Keller Williams Realty) and Andrew Pak (Equity One Real Estate). 2016 advisors are Raj Patel (Bank of America), Andy Ma (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage) and Nick Pham (2016 AREAA National Community Outreach Chair).

This year's AREAA leadership was installed by Carmen Chong, AREAA National past chair. Two-time Emmy award winner and ABC7 sports anchor and field reporter Rick Quan served as master of ceremony. Special guests included AREAA founders John Yen Wong, Allen Okamoto, Jim Park and 2016 AREAA National vice chair Angie Lee.

In his address to members and guests, Bui thanked his mentors, friends, supporters, and especially his parents, who came to this country from Vietnam to give their children better opportunities. Bui said since 2000 the Asian American community has been the fastest growing ethnic community in the U.S. with growing purchasing power. Bui's goal for AREAA SV is "to do better and more" so that more families in the Asian American community can achieve the dream of homeownership.

Congratulating the new AREAA leadership from the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® were 2016 president Karen Trolan, past president Chris Isaacson, and global business council chair Mark Wong. Trolan thanked Atsuko Yube for leading AREAA's Silicon Valley chapter in 2015 and she congratulated Bui and the chapter's new leadership on continuing their "focus in realizing the dream of homeownership for the Asian American community."
