Members of the real estate industry and public officials congratulated the Filipino American Real Estate Association Silicon Valley as the group's 2019-2020 president, officers and board of directors were formally installed Nov. 14 at the Embassy Suites in Milpitas.
The 2019-2020 officers of FAREPA SV are Cheryl Javier (CBC Realty), president; Robert Balina (Synergize Realty), vice president; Mark Taylan (Advisors 360 LLC), treasurer; and LJ Grossweiler (Patelco Credit Union), secretary. The association's board directors are Anne Ramirez (Core Dimensions International), Frank Cancilla (eXp Realty of California, Inc./FCC Realty group); Divina Parreno (WFG National Title Insurance Company); Dexter Lat (Realty World One Alliance); Dan Ramas (Keller Williams Silicon City); Janet Huynh (Broker's Network, Inc.); Tigran Bakchagyan (Keller Williams Silicon City); Dorotea Tuzon (State Farm Insurance); Anna Truong-Lopez (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage). Advisors are Wilma Baltar (Keller Williams Silicon City) and co-founder Tess Crescini (Heritage Homes & Investments).
Members of the Filipino American Real Estate Association are actively engaged in the field of real estate sales and brokerage, property management, mortgage banking, and real estate development. Regular activities of the association include monthly lunch meetings, which serve as forums for feature speakers to discuss contemporary and critical real estate issues and for networking with other real estate professionals.
Gustavo Gonzalez, president of the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors, administered the oath of office to 2019-2020 FAREPA president Cheryl Javier. Alan Barbic, president of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors, administered the oath of office to the officers and board directors. Kevin Cole (Compass) and Michelle Felix (KB Home Bay Area) served as the masters of ceremony.
Representatives from Realtor associations and public officials in the Bay Area attended the event and personally congratulated the new officers and board of directors, including San Jose District 10 Councilman Johnny Khamis and California District 25 Assemblymember Kansen Chu, who presented Javier and each of the officers and board directors a California Certificate of Recognition from the California Legislative Assembly.
Barbic presented Javier with a congratulatory certificate recognizing SILVAR's close ties and longtime relationship with FAREPA SV. Barbic said,"FAREPA is very close to our hearts, as several of our members have even been bestowed the 'Honorary Filipino' award, which is a great honor. We support your efforts towards educating your members about real estate, promoting homeownership for all Filipino Americans, and promoting your beautiful country and opportunities for investment there."
Other SILVAR members representing SILVAR at the installation dinner were Joanne Fraser, SILVAR Global Business Council chair, and Mark Wong, past Global Business Council chair.
Javier, who was re-appointed to the position of FAREPA SV president, thanked the guests and installation sponsors for their support and generosity. The installation was, in fact, a charity gala with donations going to Family Supportive Housing, a non-profit that helps homeless families remain intact while addressing their basic needs of food, shelter, employment and education.
"This has been an exciting year for me to serve as your president for FAREPA SV, and I am delighted and have the honor of serving as president for a second term. I am excited to partner with you and your teams to grow and strengthen our efforts to not only enlighten the lives of those we can help, but also expand and explore new opportunities for all our members and grow as a community," said Javier.
One opportunity the real estate group is embarking on is its second trade mission to the Philippines on February 16-27. Participants will have face-to-face meetings with potential investors and partners there. See more details about the trade mission at www.farepa.org.
