Bay Area real estate practitioners, service providers and other experts in the real estate industry will once again gather for the second annual Bay Area Multicultural Real Estate Summit this fall. This year's summit is slated for Friday, Sept. 26, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Union City.
The gathering of professionals in the real estate industry has its roots last year when, for the first time in the history of California's real estate industry, 11 associations of real estate professionals came together in an educational conference format focused on the dissemination of information, demographic trends, financial reforms and business practices which affect the fast growing multicultural real estate communities in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara.
Over 300 people attended the event, which was held at the Elks Lodge in San Mateo.
The initiative was strongly supported by the National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, San Jose Association of Realtists, with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Stewart Title of California, Chicago Title, Old Republic Title, Land America Title, C.A.R., Asian International Real Estate Expo & Conference and Pre-Paid Legal Services as sponsors. The summit program included a presentation on the state of the real estate industry by California Department of Real Estate Commissioner Jeff Davi, a panel discussion composed of experts in the industry, a class on preventing foreclosures, followed by a wine and cheese reception.
This year's summit is being supported by 16 associations. Participating organizations include the Asian Real Estate Association of East Bay, Chinese American Real Estate Association, Chinese Real Estate Association of America, Filipino American Real Estate Professionals Association, National Hispanic Real Estate Professionals of San Francisco and Silicon Valley, South Asian Real Estate Association of America, Fidelity National Financial, and seven Realtor associations - Bay East Association of REALTORS®, California Association of REALTORS®, Contra Costa Association of REALTORS®, San Francisco Association of REALTORS®, San Mateo County Association of REALTORS®, Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS® and the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®.
In line with its goal of enhancing the ability of Realtors to better understand and meet the homeownership needs of the Bay Area's increasingly diverse market, this year's summit will feature education classes throughout the day, a luncheon and keynote speaker, as well as an expo, which will give different companies the opportunity to present information about their products and services.
Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is the platinum sponsor of the event, and Bank of America, a gold sponsor. The event is also supported by a diversity grant from the National Association of REALTORS®. Realtor associations and service providers connected to the industry are encouraged to join this second initiative as an organizing association, a sponsor or program advertiser.
