REALTOR® group's Palo Alto District presents awards

The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®' Palo Alto District recently thanked REALTOR® and affiliate members for their participation in 2010 district events and programs, including their contributions to the community.
The following members were then recognized for their valuable service to the district in 2010: Kymberlee Colyer (Countrywide Home Loans), 2010 Membership Outreach Award; Lee Smith (Linda P. Smith), 2010 Special Recognition for Service Award; Leannah Hunt (Coldwell Banker), 2010 Most Inspirational; Nancy MacLeod (Homes2Buy.com), 2010 District Chair of the Year; Paulo Sanchez (First American Exchange), 2010 Affiliate of the Year.
Dante Drummond, a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker in Palo Alto, was awarded the 2010 Palo Alto REALTOR® of the Year award. Drummond has been a licensed real estate professional since 1978 and obtained her broker's license in 1981. She is a member of Coldwell Banker International President's Elite, and is consistently a top producing agent.
Drummond was named the local trade association's REALTOR® of the Year in 2004, and the Palo Alto District REALTOR® of the Year also in 2001. She was a board member in 2000-2004, 2009, 2010, and served as Palo Alto District Chair in 2010. She is also a California Association of REALTORS® director.
Drummond thanked the 2010 REALTOR® and affiliate volunteers, the sponsors of events and the 2010 District Council members for their service in 2010. In addition to Drummond and the 2010 award recipients, the members of the 2010 Palo Alto District Council included: John St. Clair III (Alain Pinel Realtors), Michael Hall (Alain Pinel Realtors), Desiree Docktor (Alain Pinel Realtors), Lydia Kou (Alain Pinel Realtors), Karen Amon (Keller Williams), Sharon Witte (Coldwell Banker), Jane Volpe (Midtown Realty), Robert Gerlach (Alain Pinel Realtors), Peter Keller (Princeton Capital), Judy Ellis (Alain Pinel Realtors) and Julia Keady (Alain Pinel Realtors).
In the fall of 2010, Palo Alto REALTORS® presented Palo Alto Unified School District Superintendent Kevin Skelly and Mandy Lowell, Partners in Education (PiE) Vice President for Development - Community, a check for $30,740 from the Palo Alto District's annual Partners in Education campaign. Palo Alto Partners in Education is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting Palo Alto public elementary, middle and high schools by raising money to meet classroom needs otherwise left unfunded. PiE's campaign raises dollars to augment Palo Alto Unified Schools' staffing for programs such as science enrichment, expanded art and music programs, classroom aides and on-site counseling. The Palo Alto REALTORS® have supported PiE for over 10 years.
The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) is a professional trade organization representing over 4,000 REALTORS® and Affiliate members engaged in the real estate business on the Peninsula and in the South Bay. SILVAR promotes the highest ethical standards of real estate practice, serves as an advocate for homeownership and homeowners, and represents the interests of property owners in Silicon Valley.
