Cupertino/Sunnyvale District's Valentine Charity Auction Raises Nearly $1,500 for Charity
The Cupertino/Sunnyvale District raised $1,487 in less than an hour at yesterday morning's Cupertino/Sunnyvale District's Valentine Charity Auction, thanks to the generous donations and participation of SILVAR REALTOR® and affiliate members.
SILVAR's training room was packed with members who eagerly bid on many interesting and fun items. Big ticket items included an iPad mini and a virtual tour package with 25 professional photos donated by Art Clark of ewalk Tours and two tickets to the Warriors vs. Mavs game donated by Adrian Daryanani of U.S. Bank. Other auction items included lots of good wine, chocolates and other candy, beautiful orchids, roses and silk flower arrangements, stuffed animals and toys for children, gift certificates to a Valentine's dinner.
Much fun and laughter was had by all, thanks to auctioneer Mark Burns, who successfully prompted members to bid generously on the items and to excellent organizers Carolyn Miller and District Affiliate Chair Eric Temple. Thank you, too, to Jeni Weaver, who helped show off the auctioned items, and to the affiliates who decorated the room the day before the event.
Carolyn Miller again thanked all the REALTORS® and affiliates who generously donated items and those who bid on the items to raise money for charity. "Wow, it's a super profit!" Miller exclaimed.
Proceeds from the auction will go toward purchasing backpacks this upcoming school year for low-income students in the community.
