Los Gatos/Saratoga District Celebrates Winter Gala
Members of SILVAR's Los Gatos/Saratoga District celebrated their annual Winter Gala at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos on Thursday evening. Despite the torrential rains that didn't cease all night, members and their guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner and music by Double Play Jazz.
2014 Los Gatos/Saratoga District Chair Mark Von Kaenel thanked members for their support during the year. He recognized 2014 district council members Alan Barbic, District Chair-elect; Karen Trolan, Past District Chair ; Mary Kay Groth, RSVP/Family Giving Tree; Eileen Giorgi, Special Events; Jim Myrick, Education; Cassie Maas, Technology; Dennis Byron, LGR; Michael Kenyon, YPN; Darrell Monda, District Affiliate Chair.
He especially thanked Chair of District Chairs John Tripp for his advice throughout the year and Cindy Stanford of Opes Advisors, for her help in arranging for speakers at tour meetings. He also thanked Trolan for her "motivation, inspiration and passion." Von Kaenel likeiwse thanked his assistant, Tia Frazier, who saw to the logistics at tour meetings.
Von Kaenel then passed the gavel on to 2015 Los Gatos/Saratoga District Chair Alan Barbic. Barbic welcomed members and said he looked forward to leading the Los Gatos/Saratoga District next year.
Barbic said he hopes to increase attendance at tour meetings in 2015 by inviting interesting speakers, including "captains of the industry," like representatives of Facebook, Google, and other companies in Silicon Valley. He seeks the support of the district's brokers and members of the district in making 2015 a successful year.
