Montalvo Realty's "Sons of Bocce" is 2015 Los Gatos/Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament Champion

Montalvo Realty beat Mainstream Real Estate Group and won back this year's Los Gatos/Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament. The "Sons of Bocce" won the very first District bocce ball tournament held in 2012 and will now have the winner trophy back in their turf. This event also raised over $3,000 for the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, thanks to the generosity of team sponsors and participation of members.
Twelve sponsored teams competed in this year's Los Gatos/Saratoga District's Fourth Annual Bocce Ball Tournament, which featured a round robin format with the teams divided into three divisions - Red, White and Blue. Each division consisted of four teams and team placement was decided by drawing lots.
SILVAR Affiliate Chair Clayton Nelson, organizer of this special district event, said the tournament play started with three- to 30-minute rounds within each division. The winning team of each division, with either the most wins or combinations of wins and points, advanced to the semi-finals. The fourth wild card team was selected by the highest score from all the remaining division teams.

The SILVAR Affiliates (The A Team) won the Red Division with three wins. Intero Real Estate Services-Los Gatos (Team Mojo), the defending champions, won the White Division, with two wins and the most division points. Montalvo Realty (Sons of the Bocce) won the Blue Division, with three wins. Mainstream Real Estate Group (Team Mainstream) won the Wildcard slot.
In the semi-finals round, "Team Mainstream" beat "The A Team," 3-2. In a surprise upset, Intero's, "Team Mojo" was skunked by the "Sons of the Bocce," 4-0.
The title round pitted "Team Mainstream" against the "Sons of the Bocce," with a very exciting, hard fought win, going to Montalvo's Sons of the Bocce, 4-2.
Nelson congratulated the winners and thanked all who attended and participated in this year's event. "Montalvo Realty is the 2015 Bocce Ball Champion and will have bragging rights and possession of the coveted RS-RA Bocce Trophy for the year, and a chance to defend its title next year," said Nelson. "Thanks to all who attended and to the team sponsors and players for making this a wildly fun event and a successful fundraiser for the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation!"
