2016 Bocce Ball Tournament Champion is Keller Williams' Team MVK
The Los Gatos/Saratoga District's 5th Annual Bocce Ball Tournament took place yesterday, and was a great success, with 10 teams competing for the coveted RA-RA Trophy. Team MVK, also known as The Ringers, from Keller Williams Realty, beat Mainstream Real Estate Group's team La Vita & Bella to become this year's champion.
The tournament, held at Campo de Bocce in Los Gatos, started with 10 teams divided into three divisions for the first three rounds of play. The three division winners plus the wild card competed in the semi-final round, with the final playoff round for the title and trophy.
The semi-final division winners were (wild card) Intero Real Estate – Saratoga's Mission Imbocceball playing against Mainstream Real Estate Group's La Vita & Bella and Alain Pinel Realtors- Los Gatos team, the Ball Breakers, playing Keller Williams' Team MVK. Team La Vita & Bella beat Mission Imbocceball 5-1 and the Ball Breakers was aced out by Team MVK team 5-1.
The exciting championship round pitted La Vita & Bella against Team MVK. The hard fought final round was won by the Team MVK over the La Vita & Bella 7-4. There was a playoff for third and fourth place, with the Ball Breakers winning over the Mission Imbocceball 10-8.
"It was an exciting final match with everyone in the place cheering while ignoring the 'boring' Warriors on TV," chuckled Clayton Nelson, organizer of the bocce event. "The Keller Williams' team will possess the trophy until next year's tournament."
The bocce ball event is always a fun time for SILVAR members and guests to get together and interact in friendly competition. The District donates proceeds from the annual event to the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation.
