At Wednesday's Palo Alto District Annual Fall Fling, nearly 80 SILVAR members enjoyed games and good food and drinks at the University Club in Palo Alto. This year's event had a casino theme, where members enjoyed roulette, poker, black jack and mingled with colleagues.
Palo Alto District Chair Amy Sung thanked everyone for coming to the District's annual event. "Many people said they had a great time. The game tables served as an ice breaker in that anyone could walk up to any table and join the game at any time. A few people initially didn't play the games, but once the attending staff showed them how to play, they participated," said Sung. "Some congregated in small groups to enjoy small talk, food and drinks. I saw a few new faces hopping from station to station. We would hear cheers break out from time to time from one of the tables. The DJ music was great and helped boost the party theme."
The annual Fall Fling event is the time the District thanks members for their support and recognizes those who served on the current year's District Council. Fall Fling is also when the District invites members to get involved in District events and programs and sign up for a committee.
