Congratulations to the Sereno Sliders, this year's Los Gatos/Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament Champion! Of 12 teams vying in this year's tournament, in the final round, the competition for the championship title and trophy came down to two teams - Sereno Group's Sliders and Keller Williams Realty's Ball Breakers, with the Sliders winning in the end. Semi-finalists were Alain Pinel Realtors' White team and Mainstreet Real Estate Group's Rorange Crush.
The Sliders, led by team captain Don Tornincasa, included Chad Hester, Chris Ray, Chris Trapani, Raylene Khan and Ryan Iwanaga.
"The Sliders ran a roughshod throughout the competition and after the first round of play were the number one team," said Shawn Carroll, who organized the event for the Los Gatos/Saratoga District Council, together with District Affiliate chair Audrey Hutton. Carroll is manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Saratoga. Hutton is with Hutton Mortgage Team in San Jose.
The 12 teams at the tournament and their captains were Mainstream Real Estate Group "Rorange Crush" - Sandy Sicsko; Keller Williams Realty "Balls of Destiny" - Jim Meech; Keller Williams Realty "Ball Breakers" - Ryan Nunnally; Coldwell Banker "Earthquakes" - Doug Evans; Sereno Group "Slowrollers" - Daniel Goni; Sereno Group "Sliders" - Don Tornincasa; Alain Pinel REALTORS® "White" - Jim Hamilton; Alain Pinel REALTORS® "Black" - Narinder Kamboj; Alain Pinel REALTORS® "Gold" - Suzanne Yost; Alain Pinel REALTORS® "Stars" - JJ Gibson; Intero Real Estate Services Los Gatos - Bernard Galvan; and Golden 1 "The Golden Wins" - JaDell Schadewitz.
Both Carroll and Hutton was pleased with the turn out and member participation. They praised the spectators who came out to cheer for the teams, and noted proceeds from the event will go to the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation.
"Everyone embraced the event and what it was. It was a competitive game, but everyone enjoyed it," said Carroll." It was a good break and fun to hang out with people from other offices, all for a good cause."
The District thanks Hutton and Carroll for their work in organizing the event, and special thanks to Bernard Galvin, who made the score boards.
