Team Intero Los Gatos 2018 Los Gatos-Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament Winner
Congratulations to Team Intero Los Gatos, this year's Los Gatos-Saratoga District Tournament champion! Of 12 teams vying in this year's tournament. Competition for the championship title and trophy finally came down to Team Intero Los Gatos, with team captain Bernard Galvan at the helm, and the Keller Williams Bay Area Estates' Ball Breakers, led by team captain Ryan Nunnally. It was close, the teams were tied and had to have a roll off, and in the end, Intero Real Estate Services' team captured the title.
Team Intero Los Gatos members included Galvan, Brad Altmann, Brad Bell, Elaine Aviles, Steve Guzzetti and Gail Thomson.
The Ball Breakers included team captain Ryan Nunnally, Chuck Nunnally, Jackie Miano, Mark Miano, Javier Ruano and Kelley Solberg.
Moving to the semifinals were Sereno Sliders, led by team captain Don Tornicasa and the Alain Pinel White team of Terence Leary. The Sliders challenged the Intero LG and the APR White team challenged the Ball Breakers. Both games were close, with Intero LG and the Ball Breakers advancing to the finals.
Over 100 members and guests turned out to play or support their team. Audrey Hutton, Affiliate Chair for the Los Gatos-Saratoga District, organized the event, along with Shawn Carroll, who is with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Saratoga. Both Hutton and Carroll were pleased with member participation and the spectator crowd that was there to cheer their respective teams. There were many new faces joining the teams. Some real estate offices formed more than one team. A couple of broker managers who did not play this year said they gave their spot to others in their office who wanted to play.
"I love how REALTORS® of all different offices can get together for some fun and friendly competition and you don't even have to know the rules to play," said Hutton. "I feel we have created a fun tradition for everyone that creates a team bonding and fun rivalry that pulls our real estate community together and brings out everyone to support them, as well."
Carroll, who took over the reins of the tournament itself, added, "It was a great tournament and quite a sellout! It was competitive, but fun, a really great event."
A total of 12 teams represented seven brokerages. In addition to Team Intero Los Gatos and Keller Williams Bay Area Estates Ball Breakers, the other teams in the tournament, their offices and captains were the Sereno Sliders (Sereno Group - Los Gatos), Don Tornicasa; Balls of Destiny (Keller Williams Bay Area Estates), Jim Meech; three teams from Alain Pinel Realtors Los Gatos - APR Black, Mike Moresco; APR Gold, Lisa Sgarlato; APR White, Terence Leary; Climb Closers (Climb Real Estate), Sandy Sicsko; Dave Clark Team (Keller Williams Silicon Valley), Troy Bambino; Sons-a-Bocces (Montalvo Realty), Susan Henning; Earthquakes (Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate), Doug Evans; and the Sereno Bambinos (Sereno Group Team 2), Mark Thomas.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. The District thanks all who came and supported the event!
