Los Gatos-Saratoga District Installs Hamilton as 2019 District Chair

At SILVAR's Los Gatos-Saratoga District Holiday Reception & Installation held Wednesday at Saratoga Country Club, members celebrated the holidays and the year's achievements with a special breakfast and musical entertainment, followed by the longtime District tradition of passing the gavel on to the new District Chair.
Musical entertainment was provided by Robert Witmeyer on the guitar and the Fisher Middle School Singers, who sang a repertoire of holiday songs in a cappella.
2018 District Chair Ryan Nunnally presented $6,835 to the Family Giving Tree. The money, which was raised at this year's October pumpkin auction, will be used for holiday gifts and food certificates for needy families and seniors in the community. The Los Gatos-Saratoga District have supported the program for more than 20 years.
Pelin Erdal, a REALTOR® with Sereno Group, accepted the check on behalf of the Family Giving Tree. She said volunteers with the agency are knee deep wrapping thousands of presents for families and seniors in the area. Perdal thanked the District, including the top five brokerages - Sereno Group, Intero Real Estate Services, Alain Pinel Realtors, Keller Williams Bay Area Estate and Coldwell Banker for their donations, as well as the many agents who adopted families on their own.
"They would otherwise not be receiving these presents without your help," she told members.
Nunnally thanked this year's council members for their service and participation. He especially praised District Affiliate Chair Audrey Hutton for the work she has done on events, including Wednesday's holiday reception. Other members of the 2018 District Council are Alan Barbic, Shawn Carroll, Mary Kay Groth, Jim Hamilton, Jose Padilla, Dave Tonna, Mark Wong and Suzanne Yost. The District also thanked Nunnally for a successful year.
The gavel was then passed among past District Chairs who were present, beginning with Dennis Byron (Montalvo Ventures, Inc.), to David Tonna (Alain Pinel Realtors), Alan Barbic (Sereno Group), Suzanne Yost (Alain Pinel Realtors), Mary Kay Groth (Sereno Group), Nunnally (Keller Williams Bay Area Estates) and on to Hamilton. SILVAR President Bill Moody then administered the oath of office to Hamilton.
Hamilton is a broker associate with Alain Pinel Realtors Los Gatos with over 33 years of experience in real estate. A longtime SILVAR member, Hamilton has served organized real estate various capacities, most notably as 2005 President of the California Association of REALTORS®.
Hamilton thanked Nunnally and the 2018 council for their service, stating, "We're only able to see in the future because we are standing on the shoulders of giants."
Next year will be an exciting year, Hamilton told members. He encouraged members to attend the tour meetings and share their input and ideas with the District Council. He noted there may be a District Council, "but it's all about you. The focus is on you. The more we stay together and get involved reflects on you."
Joining Hamilton as part of the 2019 District Council are Liz Doyle, Tim Goulet, Groth, Hutton, Nunnally, Tonna, Wong and Yost.
