SILVAR and other members of the real estate industry congratulated Michelle Lin, 2019 president of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) Silicon Valley chapter, the 2019 officers and board of directors at their Installation Luau this month. 2019 AREAA National president Tom Truong administered the oath of office to the AREAA leadership.
Lin is a principal broker with Red Wave Insurance Services San Jose. Joining her as members of the 2019 Executive Board are Andy Chung (Alain Pinel Realtors), vice president; Lillian Wang, (PNC Bank), secretary; Chika Mori (EQ1 Real Estate), treasurer; and Dennis Delisle (EQ1 Real Estate), immediate past president. The 2019 board of directors of the AREAA local chapter are Ann Truong Lopez (Bank of America), Joanne Hsu (Intero Real Estate Services), Kevin Cole (Alain Pinel Realtors), Marty Lefton (SV Commercial Lending), Monaka Jackson (Alliant Credit Union), Sylvia Lee (Intero Real Estate Services) and Thanh Ly (BBVA Compass).
Comprising the 2019 Advisory Board are Angela Wu (Intero Real Estate Services), Atsuko Yube (Sperry CGA), Jagi Shahani (Alain Pinel Realtors), Jennifer Gil (Old Republic Title), Katy Care (Veridian Mortgage), Linh Dang (Chicago Title), Mike Bui (EQ1 Real Estate), Regina Kao (Coldwell Banker), Trisha La (Golden Point Finance), Thomas Feng (Keller Williams) and Nick Pham (PN Real Estate Group).
Special guests included Allen Okamoto, founding chair and director emeritus of AREAA; Amy Kong, AREAA Education Foundation chair; and Carmen Chong, AREAA Global CEO. Representing SILVAR at the event were Mark Wong, 2018 SILVAR board director and past Global Business Council chair, and SILVAR Public Affairs & Communications Director Rose Meily.
AREAA is a nonprofit professional trade organization founded in 2003 and dedicated to promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities in Asian American communities and advocating for policy positions at the national level that will reduce homeownership barriers facing Asian Americans. AREAA's membership represents a broad array of real estate, mortgage and housing-related professionals that serve the diverse Asian American market.
In her address to members and guests, Lin vowed to continue to promote AREAA's goal of promoting sustainable homeownership for Asian American communities. Lin announced this year's theme is Hawaii's "Ohana," which speaks to the concept of a larger family that includes friends and neighbors bound together by genuine compassion, culture, support, loyalty and love for one another.
"I look forward to 2019 in building a great 'ohana,'" said Lin.
