Liz Doyle Installed as 2020 Los Gatos-Saratoga District Chair
Elizabeth "Liz" Doyle, a REALTOR® with Sereno Group Los Gatos, was installed as 2020 chair of SILVAR's Los Gatos-Saratoga District at the District's annual Holiday Breakfast and Installation held at Saratoga Country Club on Wednesday. 2019 District Chair Jim Hamilton welcomed the more than 80 members attending the event and thanked event sponsor Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty and local guitarist Robert Witmeyer, who provided musical entertainment during the breakfast.
Hamilton then thanked members of the District for their support all year. He said he is proud of Doyle and guaranteed that as incoming District Chair, Doyle would introduce new things and "will rock the house."
Hamilton strongly urged SILVAR members to get involved in the District Council and/or at other levels of SILVAR. He promised members who get involved would experience personal as well as professional growth.
"Take the opportunity to get involved. It will be a growth experience for you. You learn so much. It will provide growth opportunities in your business and personally," said Hamilton. His remarks were echoed by 2019 SILVAR President Alan Barbic, who is a member of the District.
"I have never regretted getting involved and have learned a lot. Take the time to do so," Barbic told members.
Noting getting involved in organized real estate is also time commitment, Hamilton thanked the members of this year's District Council for helping him with the tour meetings and events and keeping him on track. They include Doyle, Timothy Goulet, Mary Kay Groth, Hamilton, Audrey Hutton, Ryan Nunnally, David Tonna, Mark Wong and Suzanne Yost.
In keeping with the District's tradition, Hamilton asked past District chairs who were present to come forward and pass the gavel on to the incoming District chair. The gavel was passed from Dennis Byron (2004) to David Tonna (2006), Doug Evans (2011), Alan Barbic (2015), Suzanne Yost (2016), Mary Kay Groth (2017), Ryan Nunnally (2018), on to Hamilton, who then handed the gavel to Doyle, as everyone clapped and cheered.
Doyle, who is a native of Ohio and joined the real estate sales industry in 2010, said she immediately knew it was her calling. She is most passionate about helping others. She said she feels now is a good time in her life to get more involved in organized real estate, so after serving in the District Council last year, she agreed to serve as 2020 chair.
Doyle is looking forward to the upcoming year. She indicated 2020 will have more than 20/20 vision. She intends to bring new things and great enthusiasm to the tour meetings.
"I want to bring a new perspective and new energy," said Doyle. This means bringing in several new faces to the council, like Navneet Parmar, Tammie Peters, Bill Reding, Nicolette Rodman and Janet Souza, who will be joining Audrey Hutton, Alan Barbic, Jim Hamilton, as members of Doyle's 2020 District Council. So, Los Gatos-Saratoga District members, come to the 2020 tour meetings and be part of the new energy that the new District Council hopes to bring!
