Congratulations to the Keller Williams Ball Breakers, the winners of the 9th Annual Los Gatos-Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament! The KW Ball Breakers beat Intero The Knockouts to win this year's title.
KW Ball Breakers team captain Ryan Nunnally was especially happy they beat the Intero team, which has won the past two titles and a total of three titles since the tournament's start in 2012. Nunnally still remembers the 2018 tournament, when the KW Ball Breakers came so close to taking the trophy from Intero.
"I'm elated that bocce is back! Keller Williams has won in years past, but before I was with the company," said Nunnally. "The KW Ball Breakers lost to Intero the last time. At that time it came down to a roll off since we were tied. In this tournament, we scored the winning point and didn't roll our remaining balls so we could take the win!"
Composing the KW Ball Breakers winning team were Nunnally, Chuck Nunnally, Bernard Galvan, Javier Ruano, Krystal Mercado, and Kevin Beattie. Nunnally praised all the teams that competed this year.
"Personally, I have played in every tournament since the beginning. I was humbled by how well some of the other teams played, and we won some matches by the skin of our teeth," said Nunnally. "Our team played very well last night. Every player had their heart in the game, and we couldn't be happier than to bring the trophy home."
Worthy team challengers, Intero The Knockouts, included team captain Maureen Bowers, Ani Gregorians-Beddow, Joe Ganeff, Steve Guzzetti, Valarie Lam and Gail Thomson.
A total of eight teams played this year. In addition to the KW Ball Breakers and Intero The Knockouts, the other teams in the tournament and their captains included Compass, Roshan Revankar; Sereno Ballers, CT Harris; Sereno Sliders, Kevin Story; KW Balls of Destiny, Ken Roberts; CB North Stars, Doug Evans; and the Montalvo Sons-a Bocces, Ismar Maslic.
Los Gatos-Saratoga District Chair Tammie Peters was especially delighted at the turnout. "After missing two years, it was wonderful getting back together for SILVAR'S 9th Annual Bocce Ball Tournament and raising money for the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation," said Peters. "We had approximately 70 people in attendance and there was a lot of excitement in the air. I would also like to congratulate this year's winners, the Ball Breakers from Keller Williams Bay Area Estates!"
The District thanks all who came and supported the event! Thank you to all the teams who competed in the event and members who came to watch and mingle.
