SILVAR Congratulates FAREPA SV on 20th Anniversary and Installation of 2022-2023 Leadership Team
Congratulations to the 2022-2023 FAREPA SV leadership team!
The Filipino American Real Estate Professional Association Silicon Valley (FAREPA SV) celebrated its 20th anniversary and installation of the association's 2022-2023 president, executive officers and board directors on November 17 at the Holiday Inn in Milpitas. Representing SILVAR and congratulating FAREPA and its 2022-2023 leadership team were SILVAR President Brett Caviness, Past President Joanne Fraser, and Global Business Council member Jimmy Kang.
2021 California Association of REALTORS® President Dave Walsh administered the oath of office to 2022-2023 FAREPA President Frank Cancilla. Fraser, who also serves as C.A.R. Region 9 Chair, administered the oath of office to 2022-2023 FAREPA executive officers Robert Balina, vice president; LJ Grossweiller (Patelco Credit Union), secretary; and Tigran Bakchagyan (Keller Willaims Silicon City), treasurer.
William Chea, president-elect of the Santa Clara County Association of REALTORS®, installed 2022-2023 board directors Mark Taylan (Direct Mortgage Funding), immediate past president; Cheryl "CJ" Javier (CBC Realty), executive advisor, Anna Lisa Truong Lopez, Anne Orozco-Ramirez (Realty World Dominion), Dan Ramas (Keller Williams Silicon City), Dorotea Tuzon (State Farm Insurance), Dexter Lat (Realty World One Alliance), Divina Parreno, Marlyn Silva, Cherryll Comendador and Gelda Angel (Guild Mortgage). Truong and Lat served as co-emcees for the event.
Cancilla is an associate broker and branch manager at eXp Realty. He is a C.A.R. Director, a former SCCAOR board director and 2018 REALTOR® of the Year. A resident of San Jose since 1967, Cancilla is a recipient of multiple community awards, including 2013 San Jose Local Hero Award, 2013 Citizen Of The Year by the Berryessa Citizen Advisory Council.
In his message to the real estate community, Cancilla stated, "I look forward to improving the lives of our members and making a positive impact in our real estate community. My desire is for our organization to continue to be an influencing voice through education, networking, and partnerships. In hopes to leaving a strong foundation for the future of FAREPA Silicon Valley."
On behalf of SILVAR, Caviness congratulated Cancilla and the new leadership team. Caviness pledged SILVAR's support for FAREPA. "SILVAR values our longtime friendship and FAREPA's commitment to elevating the professionalism of its membership, advocating for policy positions that will reduce barriers to homeownership for the Filipino American community, and its community outreach services to underserved families here and in the Philippines."
FAREPA-SV was founded in 2002 to promote the interests of Filipino American real estate professionals and elevate the level of professionalism within the real estate industry through education, networking, and partnership. The group advocates for policies that reduce barriers to homeownership for the Filipino American community. FAREPA offers housing fairs, homebuyer educational programs and has spearheaded community outreach projects and fundraising efforts to serve underserved individuals and families in Silicon Valley and in the Philippines.
