Denise Welsh is 2022 SILVAR REALTOR® of the Year
At last night's 2023 SILVAR Installation Gala, members were recognized for their valuable contributions to SILVAR last year. The 2022 Appreciation Awards were presented by SILVAR CEO Paul Cardus.
Recognized for their outstanding contributions were:
2022 REALTOR® of the Year: Denise Welsh (Christie's International Real Estate Sereno)
The REALTOR® of the Year award is bestowed on a member who continually demonstrates skills, competency, knowledge and selfless service to the public, clients and to SILVAR. They are a shining example to fellow REALTORS® due to their leadership, principles, and contributions.
Welsh, a REALTOR® and broker associate for over three decades, has been an active member of SILVAR, serving on many committees and leadership positions over the past decade. She has been involved in her community for over four decades on the Historical Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, schools and church activities.
Welsh has served on SILVAR's Charitable Foundation Trust and the Housing Affordability Fund. A past SILVAR President, she continues to mentor and counsel, volunteers on her district council, and serves as a California Association of REATORS® and National Association of REALTORS® Director. Presenting her with the prestigious award, Cardus praised Welsh for her "generous servant leadership, her passion, truthfulness, and kindness."
2022 Affiliate of the Year: Caroline Wolf (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage)
The Affiliate of the Year is someone through their actions has unequivocally embraced and adopted the principles, goals, and purposes of SILVAR. By their continuous contributions of time, effort, and skills, he or she demonstrates dedication to the success of the Association and by example promotes and enhances the REALTOR® image to the public.
Cardus described Wolf as "a hardworking, hands-on leader and a great proponent of SILVAR. Her market watch reports are timely, insightful, and educational. Her engagement enhances the image of our Association to the great benefit of our REALTOR® and affiliated professional members."
2022 Spirit of SILVAR Award: Katherine Frey (Katherine Frey Real Estate)
The Spirit of SILVAR award is presented to a REALTOR® whose professionalism and engagement reflect and inspire the Association's commitment to supporting and contributing to the communities it serves. Through their leadership, they have inspired the Association to reach out and responding to our neighbors and communities.
A longtime SILVAR member, director and district chair, Frey early on chaired the Los Altos-Mountain View Community Service Awards Committee, has spearheaded the district's pumpkin auction to raise funds for the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation and heightened members' engagement with local non-profits. She was instrumental in encouraging members to participate in the REALTOR® Service Volunteer and has made sure members realize the importance of our schools and our youth by spotlighting their talents at SILVAR events.
Cardus said Frey "personifies the spirit of volunteerism. She is one of those members that works behind the scenes, recognizing the services of others while never drawing attention to herself."
2022 President's Award: Selena Young (Coldwell Banker Realty)
The President's award is presented at the discretion of the President to an individual whose service to the Association is worthy of special thanks and recognition. 2022 President Brett said Young was instrumental in helping him organize one of SILVAR's biggest events of the year.
Caviness described Young as a member who has "selflessly been contributing to our community for the last several years, without asking anything in return. … always good to her word, getting things done wherever asked or needed."
