KW Ball Breakers Win 11th Los Gatos-Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament
Congratulations to the KW Ball Breakers, champions of the 11th Annual Los Gatos-Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament! The team's members are Bernard Galvan, captain, Javier Ruano, Ken Roberts, Joey Travis, Scott Perry, and Joseph Karakas. Montalvo Sons-a-Bocces came in second, with Ismar Maslic, captain, and Faith Sackett, Jules Bell, Bill Taylor, Carlo Severo, and Goran Culic. The Ball Breakers were thrilled that they were able to earn the championship title back. The team won the title in 2022, when the event was brought back after missing two years due to the Covid pandemic.
This is actually the third year in a row that a Keller Williams Bay Area Estates team has won the Bocce tournament. The KW Balls of Destiny won last year. Notably proud of its agents, the company released this statement about the team's win: "Keller Williams Bay Area Estates is very proud of the success of our Bocce team and their championship performance at this year's SILVAR Bocce tournament. Our captain, Bernard Galvan, assembled the best team from the many willing agents that expressed interest in playing in this prestigious SILVAR event. We are proud once again to have competed and come out on top with all of the excellent other teams in this year's event."
"We will be back next year in an attempt to 4 Peat!!" said an enthusiastic Galvan.
A total of eight teams played this year. In addition to the KW Ball Breakers and Montalvo Sons-a-Bocces, other worthy contending teams and their captains were Compass The Rolling Realtors, Sandy Sicsko; The Agency A Team, Jeff Barnett; The Real Bocce Experts, Tony Fery; Sereno - Bocce is for Closers, Mark Thomas; Coldwell Banker – The Earthquakes, Doug Evans; and Golden 1 – Good as Gold, Caroline Wolf;
Los Gatos-Saratoga District Chair Navneet Parmar said she was very happy with the turnout of players and spectators and expressed her thanks. "The event was successful due to the participation from the teams and the spectators that cheered them on. Thank you for your continued support," she said.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation.
