Wednesday's Lunch & Learn class on "Trusts, Probate and Incapacity Pitfalls" with Scott Heisey, Senior California Title Officer at Stewart Title of California, as instructor was well-attended. The class, sponsored by SILVAR Affiliate Bryan Russell, Mortgage Bank Manager with First Bank, covered topics like living trusts, successor trustees, power of attorney, probate transactions, incapacity red flags, and more.
"We had a great educational Lunch and Learn this past Wednesday. Scott brought great information about the importance of having your properties in a trust," said Tracey McNealy, SILVAR Director At-large and chair of the Education Committee. "When properties are going through a title change, there are many pitfalls and tax consequences that can be costly to the family members that remain and are looking to move forward."
