Alan Barbic is SILVAR's 2024 REALTOR® of the Year
At last night's 2025 Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® Installation Gala, members were recognized for their valuable contributions to the Association last year. The 2024 Recognition Awards were presented by SILVAR CEO Paul Cardus and 2024 President Eileen Giorgi, who thanked SILVAR members for their support during her term and praised the volunteers, including the 2024 board directors, members of the five SILVAR District Councils, the 2024 committee chairs and SILVAR staff.
Recognized for their outstanding contributions were:
2024 REALTOR® of the Year: Alan Barbic (Barbic Real Estate Group)
The REALTOR® of the Year award is bestowed on a member who continually demonstrates skills, competency, knowledge and selfless service to the public, clients and to SILVAR. They are a shining example to fellow REALTORS® due to their leadership, principles, and contributions. Giorgi told members that Barbic, who has been in the real estate profession for 37 years and served as SILVAR President in 2019, has taken an active role at SILVAR and the California Association of REALTORS® even after his term as president due to his desire to give back to the Association.
"Business challenges, wildfires and earthquakes have not diminished his passion for the great loves of his life: family, organized real estate, and motorcycles," said Giorgi, noting that Barbic's mantra is, "Always look forward. Riding opens up the world."
2024 Affiliate of the Year: Satish Dadral (Wells Fargo Home Mortgage)
The Affiliate of the Year is someone through their actions has unequivocally embraced and adopted the principles, goals, and purposes of SILVAR. They promote and enhance the REALTOR® image to the public and their continuous contributions of time, effort, and skills demonstrate dedication to the success of the Association. Giorgi said Dadral has proven to be a great proponent of SILVAR. He supports all SILVAR programs across the Association from Menlo Park to Los Gatos, and his market reports are timely, insightful, and educational.
"In addition to sharing knowledge and promoting professionalism at SILVAR events, he provides mortgage services committed to ensuring great experience and exceptional service for our REALTOR® members and their clients. 'Gold standard,' 'miracle worker,' 'seamless and stress free' are some of his accolades."
Spirit of SILVAR: Carole Feldstein (Coldwell Banker Realty)
The Spirit of SILVAR award is presented to a REALTOR® whose professionalism and engagement reflect and inspire the Association's commitment to supporting and contributing to the communities it serves. Through their leadership, they have inspired the Association to reach out and respond to our neighbors and communities.
Feldstein has served as Federal Political Coordinator for over 30 years for U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo, who was first elected in 1992 and retired this month. Feldstein first began her service as FPC with the Los Altos Association of REALTORS®. She always meticulously organized meetings with Representative Eshoo, was in constant communication with SILVAR, our neighboring associations with Eshoo's Congressional district, the regional leadership, and Government Affairs staff.
Commending Feldstein (who unfortunately could not be present last night), Giorgi noted, "She has superbly fulfilled every duty of an FPC from scheduling and leading in-district meetings, political engagement, responding to every request from NAR and C.A.R, and shepherding the Washington D.C. Hill visit. Carole has also been an active participant, as trustee, director or chair, in the multiple iterations of SILVAR's political action committees, from the first Silicon Valley REALTORS® & Homeowners Political Action Committee to the current Legislative Committee."
President's Award: Jim Hamilton (Compass) and Tammie Peters (Christie's International Realty Sereno)
Giorgi praised both Hamilton, who served 2023 SILVAR President, and Peters, as President-elect last year, for their unyielding support during her term. "They were always there asking what they could do to help, and they were always good to their word getting things done whenever asked or needed."
