Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Awards Scholarships to Local High School Seniors
The Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Trust, the charitable arm of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR), presented scholarships to several graduating seniors from public high schools at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Each student received a $1,500 scholarship.
The scholarship program is a partnership effort between the Foundation and educators in public high schools located in SILVAR's service areas. The program recognizes students for their outstanding achievements in academics, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. Since it was established over 25 years ago, the program has awarded $543,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in the Silicon Valley area.
"SILVAR established its scholarship program in 1999 as a long-term investment in local communities, schools, and youth," said Nina Yamaguchi, Charitable Foundation scholarship program chair. "Since then, we've recognized student achievements from 18 different schools in the area, and we appreciate the ongoing dedication of teachers, advisors, administrators, and school board members who contribute to the excellence of our schools."
Students who received scholarships, the schools from which they graduated, and the colleges/universities they plan to attend are: Chloe Yoon, Cupertino High School (Johns Hopkins); Venkata Ramisetty, Fremont High School (UCLA); Nazira Musebaeva, Gunn High School (USC); Ido Halevy, Homestead High School (Stanford); Marc Van de Waal, Leigh High School (UC Santa Cruz); Dia Hemanth, Los Altos High School (UC Berkeley); Ryan Idemoto, Los Gatos High School (UC Berkeley); Qianzi Loo, Lynbrook High School (UC Berkeley); Lucas Selvik, Menlo-Atherton High School (Washington University in St. Louis); Aradhana Sekar, Monta Vista High School (Emory); Calista Woo, Mountain View High School (Stanford); Justin Stephen, Palo Alto High School (UC Berkeley); Gabriel Irazabal, Prospect High School (Stanford); Dylan Ng, Santa Clara High School (UC Santa Barbara); Angela Tan, Saratoga High School (Purdue); Brissa Torres, Westmont High School (UC Davis); Aryanna Duarte, Woodside High School (Arizona State).
The Charitable Foundation's president, Eileen Giorgi, expressed her enthusiasm for the scholarship recipients.
"This year's deserving seniors have shown tremendous dedication to both their academic careers and helping their community," she said. "We're excited for them to begin their college journey. Our Charitable Foundation's scholarship program has continued for over 25 years thanks to member contributions. We remain committed to serving and enriching our communities through the important work of this Foundation."
SILVAR members who presented the scholarship awards to the recipients during their senior awards ceremony were Carol Burnett (Compass), Joanne Fraser (Compass), Katherine Frey (Katherine Frey Real Estate), Alex Lewicki (DeLeon Realty), Wendy Marioni (Compass), Tracey McNeely (eXp Realty of California), Sunita Merchia (Merchia Realty), Russell Morris (Coldwell Banker), Sue Myers (Intero), Navneet Parmar (Keller Williams Bay Area Estates), Tammie Peters (Christie's International Real Estate Sereno), Denise Welsh (Compass), Mark Wong (Compass), and Selena Young (Coldwell Banker).
