SILICON VALLEY REALTORS® 2016 LEADERSHIP TEAM INSTALLED, APPRECIATION AWARDS PRESENTED

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) 2016 leadership team was installed at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos on Jan. 14. California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) 2013 president Don Faught administered the oath of office to SILVAR's new president, officers and board of directors.
The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) represents over 4,500 REALTORS® and affiliates engaged in the real estate business on the Peninsula and in the South Bay. SILVAR promotes the highest ethical standards of real estate practice, serves as an advocate for homeownership and homeowners, and represents the interests of property owners in Silicon Valley.
Karen Trolan, a REALTOR®, broker and assistant manager of the Alain Pinel Realtors Los Gatos office, was installed as 2016 president; Denise Welsh, a REALTOR® with Alain Pinel Realtors, Los Altos, president-elect; and Phyllis Carmichael, a REALTOR® with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Los Altos, treasurer.
In addition to the three lead officers, SILVAR's 2016 board of directors includes Chris Isaacson (Coldwell Banker), past president; David Tonna (Alain Pinel Realtors), Region 9 chair; Brett Caviness (Coldwell Banker), Menlo Park/Atherton District chair; Amy Sung (Pacific Union International Real Estate), Palo Alto District chair; Katherine Frey (Alain Pinel Realtors), Los Altos/Mountain View District chair; David Hunt (W.A. Krauss & Co. Property Management), Cupertino/Sunnyvale District chair; Suzanne Yost (Alain Pinel Realtors), Los Gatos/Saratoga District Chair; and directors at-large Jeff Bell (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage), Davena Gentry (Sereno Group), Eileen Giorgi (Sereno Group), Gene Lentz (Keller Williams Realty), Cassie Maas (Alain Pinel Realtors), Ryan Nunnally (Alain Pinel Realtors); and affiliate chair, Eric Temple (Willow Glen Organics).
Trolan is a Los Gatos resident and has been a REALTOR® and broker for 30 years. A strong supporter of organized real estate, Trolan has served as president-elect for SILVAR (2015), chair of the Los Gatos/Saratoga District, and as C.A.R. Region 9 director. As assistant manager of the Alain Pinel Realtors Los Gatos office, she is responsible for agent improvement, community involvement and other special projects.
Trolan is passionate about bringing the association's broker community together with stronger cooperation. She urged members to avail of opportunities to learn and improve in business, ethics, cultures, sales, time management, self-motivation and other topics. Trolan's theme for 2016 is "Together we make a difference."

Jeff Bell (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage), REALTOR® of the Year, honored for his active involvement in leadership posts for the past 15 years at SILVAR, MLSListings Inc. and the California Association of REALTORS®
Clayton Nelson (Clayton Nelson & Associates), Affiliate of the Year, recognized as the "guiding force" behind the success of the annual Los Gatos/Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament, which has raised thousands of dollars to support the association's Charitable Foundation.
Chris Trapani (Sereno Group), Spirit of SILVAR, recognized for reflecting the Association's commitment to supporting and contributing to communities. Sereno Group donates 1 percent of gross commissions to a charitable or community-minded group committed to making a positive difference in the communities it serves.
Kathryn Tomaino (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage), President's Award, recognized for her dedicated work as the association's Tour Policy Committee chair and her work in legislative advocacy.
