$40,000 Pledged at SILVAR Charity Golf Tournament

Cupertino, CA - Realtor and affiliate members of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) pledged $40,000 at the Ninth Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation's 2007 Charity Golf Tournament held at the Palo Alto Golf and Country Club on Monday, Sept. 24. Over 113 Realtors and affiliates participated in the annual golf tournament and, 137 members and their guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, followed by awards, a raffle and live and silent auctions.

The Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation is a trust which makes grants available to organizations from donations by its Realtor and affiliate members and friends. Funds raised by the foundation go to numerous beneficiaries, including scholarships, family and youth programs, housing programs and various other community services in the different communities served by SILVAR Realtors and affiliates.

Last year, the foundation donated $91,205 to different non-profit organizations that help youth, the homeless and low-income individuals and families in Silicon Valley.

Dennis Young co-chaired the golf tournament, with Jimmy Kang, Michael Morris and SILVAR Development Director Kelly Dadsetan. Young welcomed everybody and delivered the introductions. Cindy Luedtke, president of the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, thanked everyone for supporting the tournament, which is a major charity event of the association. SILVAR President Mark Burns served as Master of Ceremonies and auctioneer.

The 2007 Charity Foundation Tournament winners were: First Place (55): John Carman, David Olerich, Eric Trailer, Allen Loveless; Second Place (60): Tony Gabb, Brian McDermott, Greg Simpson, Tom Tognoli; Third Place (61): Ryan Iwanaga, Chris Trapani, Chris Ray, Bart Call; First Place Mixed Team: Cyndi Luedtke, Millie Carol, Jerry Moisen, Gael Knight; Second Place Mixed Team: Bill Challas, Renee Satterfield, Dana Kennedy, Nan Lattos; Most Fun Team: Kathy Yazalina, Kristina Molitar, Michele Rodriguez, Sylvia Sevfferlein; Closest to the Pin: Men - Chris Ray (6'10"); Women - Carrie Williams (31'91/2"); Longest Drive: Men - Tim Proschold; Women - Christine Kim.

This year's Hole-In-One Sponsor was Red Hawk Real Estate (formerly Red Hawk Realty in Menlo Park), which is based in Portola Valley. Other sponsors were Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Birdie Sponsor; Indymac Bank, Prize Hole Sponsor; RSM McGladrey, Putting Contest Sponsor; Sereno Group, Corporate Sponsor.

Tee and Hole Sponsors were Alain Pinel Realtors-Los Gatos Office, Alliance Title, First American Title, Old Republic Title, Palo Alto Affiliates, Princeton Capital, Sand Hill Financial, State Farm Insurance and Washington Mutual. Program Sponsors were Coldwell Banker- San Antonio and First American Exchange. Sponsors decorated their respective holes and offered food and beverages to participants while they golfed. Alliance Title featured a colorful luau theme and was selected the "Most Creative."
