Karen Trolan is 2023 SILVAR REALTOR® of the Year
Congratulations, Karen Trolan, 2023 REALTOR® of the Year!
At yesterday's 2024 SILVAR Installation Luncheon and Reception, members were recognized for their valuable contributions to SILVAR last year. The 2023 Recognition Awards were presented by 2023 President Jim Hamilton and SILVAR CEO Paul Cardus.
Recognized for their outstanding contributions were:
2023 REALTOR® of the Year: Karen Trolan (Christie's International Real Estate Sereno)
Hamilton described Trolan as one of the leaders in real estate in Silicon Valley who began their real estate career nearly 40 years ago. "For 39 years, she has worked on the frontlines and behind the scenes for the success of the Association, MLSListings, C.A.R. She believes in giving back to the community in many different ways: soccer coach, officer at Girls on the Run, Sierra Region Ski Patrol, ranked in five martial arts, and REALTOR® safety instructor to name the most recent few. In so many ways she is the REALTOR® face in her community. Her determination and spirit inspires us, and in her own words, she can still do it," said Hamilton.
2023 Affiliate of the Year: Creighton Galloway (o2 Mortgage)
Hamilton said Galloway demonstrates dedication to the success of the Association by means of serving its members and the community. "He has proven to be a hardworking, hands-on leader and a great proponent of our Association. In addition to engagement at SILVAR and community events, he provides mortgage services committed to ensuring a great experience for our REALTORS®."
Spirit of SILVAR Award: Jane Volpe (REALTOR®)
Hamilton said Volpe embodies SILVAR's commitment to contributing to the community it serves, "working quietly behind the scenes for the success of the Association and their community. She personifies the spirit of volunteerism. She works behind the scenes without accolades. She is one of those members that works outside the limelight, recognizing the services of others while never drawing attention to herself."
President's Award: Joanne Fraser (Compass)
"SILVAR has been lucky that Joanne has served for decades on many committees and in numerous leadership positions. Her commitment to many of these committees or foundations has lasted for years, even culminating in the leadership, chairmanship, or presidency position," said Hamilton. Fraser, who served as 2021 SILVAR President, was praised for all her work at SILVAR and for all the things she has done and continues to do not only for the association, but her work as regional chair at C.A.R., her involvement in CRS (serving as the Northern California Chapter President), in her church, and being named by Mountain View Chamber of Commerce as Ambassador of the Year. She also has served as a member of the SILVAR Charitable Foundation and Foundation president in 2009, the SILVAR Professional Standards Committee and SILVAR Grievance Committee.
