11. Silicon Valley Realtor Group Earns Green Certification
Cupertino, CA - Silicon Valley Realtors have joined the ranks of groups that are con-cerned about the future of the environment and decided to do something about it. The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) office in Cupertino has been certified as a Green Business through the Green Business Certification Program adminis-tered by the Association of Bay Area Government (ABAG) and Santa Clara County. The professional trade organization representing over 4,000 Realtors® and affiliate members engaged in the real estate business on the Peninsula and in the South Bay, is the only Realtor association in the state that has obtained this certification.
12. Silicon Valley REALTORS® Earn Green Re-Certification
Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) announced today that it has been re-certified as a Bay Area Green Business by the California Bay Area Green Business Program, after meeting stricter standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste. SILVAR promotes the highest ethical standards of real estate practice, serves as an advocate for homeownership and homeowners, and represents the interests of property owners in Silicon Valley.
13. SILVAR Abides by Shelter in Place of Residents Orders, Closes Office
Cupertino, CA - Effective today, Tuesday, March 17, 2020, all individuals living in the counties of San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa and Alameda are ordered to shelter at their place of residence, except those who must leave to perform essential services. This order will stay in place until April 7. Abiding by this order, the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® office in Cupertino will be closed starting today until April 7. As our staff works remotely, SILVAR will endeavor to serve our members as best we can. Members can email membership@silvar.org if you have additional questions.

The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) office in Cupertino has been certified as a Green Business through the Green Business Certification Program administered by the Association of Bay Area Government (ABAG) and Santa Clara County.
15. REALTORS®: More home buyers value environmentally friendly features
Homes with energy efficient and environmentally friendly features are becoming more of a priority to prospective buyers. According to the National Association of REALTORS®' 2012 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, nearly nine out of 10 recent home buyers said heating and cooling costs were somewhat or very important when considering a home for purchase.
16. Silicon Valley REALTORS® learn green recertification
Silicon Valley REALTORS® continue to show their concern for the future of the environment. Upon meeting new and stricter standards for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste, the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) has earned recertification as a Bay Area Green Business from the California Bay Area Green Business Program. The local trade group was the first REALTOR® association in the state to obtain the green certification in 2007. With stricter requirements in place, the association this month completed the re-certification process administered by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Santa Clara County.
