Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Realtors® Charitable Foundation presented YES Reading with a grant for $2,500 during the December 8 Palo Alto District Tour Meeting. Coldwell Banker Realtor Arvada Darnell presented the grant to Sarah Almy, executive director of YES Reading.

Cupertino, CA - Realtors and affiliates of the Cupertino/Sunnyvale District of Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) presented Sunnyvale Community Services and Cupertino Community Services each with a $500 grant at the district’s tour meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14.

Cupertino/Saratoga District Chair and SILVAR President-elect Mark Burns presented the checks to Nancy Tivol, executive director of Sunnyvale Community Services, and Kim Fern, program director for Cupertino Community Services.
Founded in 1970, Sunnyvale Community Services is an independent, nonprofit emer-gency assistance agency which aims to prevent homelessness and hunger for low-income families and to help seniors remain independent. The organization provides financial aid, food, and other support that prevents larger problems with more expensive solutions.


Cupertino Community Services, Inc. is a private non-profit, community based agency that has been providing direct assistance and referral services to the community for more than 30 years. Founded in 1973 by three public health nurses, the Cupertino Roundup be-came incorporated as Cupertino Community Services in 1976.


The organization provides a continuum of basic needs, family services and housing ser-vices including information and referrals, food, clothing, shelter, affordable housing, fi-nancial assistance, and case management. The agency serves the West Valley communi-ties of Cupertino, West San Jose, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and Saratoga.

Cupertino, CA - A grant for $2,500 was recently presented to the Mountain View City Library Foundation by the Silicon Valley Realtors® Charitable Foundation. Charitable Foundation Trustee Joanne Fraser presented the check to Nancy Vandenberg, the li-brary’s Youth Resources manager, at the Los Altos/Mountain View Realtor tour meeting held at Oregano’s Woodfire Pizza in Los Altos on Friday, Nov. 17.

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Realtors® Charitable Foundation recently presented over $6,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations that assist families in the area. At the Los Gatos/Saratoga District m, District Chair Brian Bernasconi, who is with Alain Pinel Real-tors, presented a check for $3,180 to representatives of Future Families of Santa Clara County, and a check for $3,000 to a representative of Emq Children & Family Services of Los Gatos.

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation presented a check for $2,500 to Community Association for Rehabilitation in Palo Alto . At Palo Alto 's Realtor Tour Meeting on Friday, Nov. 3. Diana Sumner, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, presented the grant on behalf of the Charitable Foundation to Imogene Chancellor, board member of Community Association for Rehabilitation.

To make sure no one in the Silicon Valley area is homeless this winter, Realtors and affiliates of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors® (SILVAR) raised $75,000 for the Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) during Home for the Holidays, SILVAR’s largest charitable event of the year.

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) Political Action Committee (PAC) has announced its endorsements for candidates running for local office in seven Peninsula and South Bay cities and towns in the November 7th General Election.

"The candidates endorsed by our association understand the importance of protecting homeowners and the challenges in promoting opportunities for homeownership in Silicon Valley," said Gene Lentz, Chairman of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® PAC.
