Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Realtors® Charitable Foundation presented a $2,500 grant to Youth Community Service at the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® Palo Alto District tour meeting last week. Palo Alto District Chair Julia Keady presented the check to Leif Erickson, executive director of Youth Community Service in Palo Alto.

Cupertino, CA - At the Nov. 9 Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® Palo Alto District Tour Meeting, the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation presented a grant of $2,500 to Community Association for Rehabilitation (C.A.R.). The check was presented by Palo Alto District Chair-elect Nadr Essabhoy to Imogene Chancellor, a C.A.R. board director.

For the first time in the history of California's real estate industry, 11 associations of real estate professionals came together on Oct. 25 to hold the first Bay Area Multicultural Real Estate Summit. The summit brought together Bay Area real estate practitioners, government officials and service providers in an educational conference format focused on dissemination of information, demographic trends, financial reforms and business practices which affect the fast growing multicultural real estate communities in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara.

Realtor and affiliate members of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) pledged $40,000 at the Ninth Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation’s 2007 Charity Golf Tournament held at the Palo Alto Golf and Country Club on Monday, Sept. 24. Over 113 Realtors and affiliates participated in the annual golf tournament and, 137 members and their guests enjoyed a buffet dinner, followed by awards, a raffle and live and silent auctions.

The pumpkins and Halloween decorations are out in the stores, which usually signal fall and the beginning of holiday events. For Realtors and affiliates of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®, this signals the time for HIF Home for the Holidays, the biggest charity fundraiser they hold to make sure no one in our communities is homeless this winter.

It is through these major events, in addition to donations received from members, that local Realtors who help individuals and families buy homes and sell their homes are able to give back to their communities.

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Cardus to the position of Executive Officer. Cardus has served as SILVAR's Government Affairs Director and more recently, as Interim Executive Officer, since the resignation of Janet Case in May.
