Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®, presented scholarship awards to 18 graduating seniors from public high schools in Silicon Valley at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship.

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR), the local trade association representing over 4,000 REALTORS® and affiliate members engaged in the real estate business on the Peninsula and in the South Bay, has received reports from members doing business in Santa Clara County of a scam by individuals fraudulently posing as landlords and misrepresenting vacant properties for lease.

Cupertino, CA -- The 13th annual Silicon Valley Scholars Program for graduating seniors from 18 public high schools in Silicon Valley is underway. The scholars program is sponsored by the Charitable Foundation of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS®, the local trade association representing 4,000 REALTOR® and affiliate members on the Peninsula and in the South Bay.

REALTOR®(R) Service Volunteer Program offers help with household tasks.

Cupertino, CA -- For senior homeowners or renters who are physically or financially challenged, tasks like replacing smoke detector batteries, flipping a mattress or washing windows can be a major chore. Seniors and the homebound residing on the Peninsula and in the South Bay may request free assistance with these household tasks through the REALTOR® Service Volunteer Program (RSVP) during the week of May 7-11. The deadline for seniors to apply for assistance is Thursday, March 15.

Cupertino, CA - The 2012 leadership team of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR) was installed Jan. 12 at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga. California Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.) treasurer Chris Kutzkey administered the oath of office to the association's 2012 president Suzanne Yost and the board of directors.

Cupertino, CA - The Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® (SILVAR), donated $53,500 in the form of grants and scholarships in 2011. The Charitable Foundation is a trust which makes grants available to organizations from donations by members and friends of the local trade association.
