Members of SILVAR's Cupertino/Sunnyvale District had a festive celebration of the holidays on Thursday. A special breakfast was followed by SILVAR affiliate Richard Miller and SILVAR Customer Service Representative Jake Terry, who entertained members with a Hawaiian-style rendition of the poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas (Ke Ahiahi Mamua O Kalikimaka), and the song “The 12 Days of Christmas” Hawaiian style, much to the amusement of members. The District also had a drawing for many prizes, including 10 new SILVAR lock boxes.

Members of the Los Altos/Mountain View District celebrated the holidays with a special breakfast at the Los Altos Golf & Country Club, and a special performance by the Mountain View Madrigal Singers.

The Palo Alto District on Friday held its annual holiday breakfast and awards presentation. 2010 District Chair Dante Drummond thanked members of the district for their attendance of tour meetings and their involvement and participation in 2010 district events and programs.

Members of SILVAR's Los Gatos/Saratoga District celebrated their annual holiday gala and passing of the gavel from 2010 District Chair Bill Rehbock to 2011 District Chair Doug Evans on Wednesday night at the Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos. The evening was festive as members networked and listened and danced to the tunes of Dean Martin.

SILVAR's Palo Alto District celebrated Fall Fling on Thursday, November 18, at the Masonic Lodge in Palo Alto. Fall Fling is an occasion for Palo Alto REALTORS® and affiliates to mix and network, and to learn about opportunities available to each district member to engage and participate in the process and benefits of organized real estate. This annual celebration honors Palo Alto District members who have contributed to the real estate community and community at large.

The holiday spirit of giving has begun in Silicon Valley, ushered in by SILVAR's Los Gatos//Saratoga District's Annual Pumpkin Auction on Wednesday. Thanks to generous donations of auction items by individuals and companies, this year's event raised $3,800 for the Eastfield Ming Quong(EMQ) Los Gatos, which helps children in crisis and their families. The agency provides innovative mental health treatment, foster care and social services to help families recover from trauma, abuse and addiction, and rebuild their lives.

Approximately 250 members attended the 2010 Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® General Membership Meeting held Monday at the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club. The general meeting began with remarks from 2010 SILVAR President Jeff Bell, Executive Officer Paul Cardus, PRDS Board Chair Mark Burns, Government Affairs Director Adam Montgomery and Board Director Suzanne Yost. SILVAR President-elect Gene Lentz introduced the meeting's special guest speaker, National Association of REALTORS® Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research Dr. Lawrence Yun.
