At the SILVAR General Membership Meeting on Dec. 1, 2025 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, President Tammie Peters and CEO Paul Cardus welcomed members and presented their reports at SILVAR's 2025 General Membership Meeting. The announcement by Cardus that member dues would not increase in 2026 was received with considerable applause.

On Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, members gathered at the Computer History Museum to hear Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), deliver his forecast, "Housing Market Trends and Forecast 2026." Yun painted a picture of a national market poised for recovery, driven by falling interest rates, while highlighting the exceptional nature of the local economy.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, the SILVAR Global Business Council event held its last virtual event of 2025: "Understanding Singapore Real Estate," with speaker Larry Eu. During this presentation, Eu provided an in-depth look at Singapore's complex, highly regulated yet consistently profitable property market and its unique appeal, especially to American investors.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, the Los Gatos-Saratoga and Cupertino-Sunnyvale districts hosted this year's BBQ, with a first-ever chili cook-off. The event took place at Linda Vista Park in Cupertino, with more than 80 members who attended and enjoyed the food and company.

Chili cook-off contestants included Los Gatos-Saratoga District Chair Navneet Parmar; affiliate chair David Butler; affiliate member John Hayes; and director-at-large Tracey McNeely. Members tasted each chili and voted for their favorite. Along with the chili selections, catering was provided by The Art of BBQ.

Parmar won first place, with Hayes and Butler placing second and third, respectively.

On winning, Parmar said, "It feels amazing since it was my first time making chili. Maybe it was very ambitious of me to enter a cook-off with my first-time chili, but I thought, 'Why not?'"

Despite temperatures reaching into the 90s, Parmar expressed enthusiasm for members showing up in record numbers. "I think the turnout was great," she said. "Much better than the last few years. And I think the chili cook-off should be an ongoing thing moving forward."

Congratulations to the KW Ball Breakers, champions of the 12th Annual Los Gatos-Saratoga District Bocce Ball Tournament! The team includes Ryan Nunnally, captain, and team members Javier Ruano, Ken Roberts, Joey Travis, Joseph Karakas, and Chuck Nunnally, with alternates Mark Miano and Dan Sullivan. Coldwell Banker Boccelicious Since 1906 came in second, with Jeff Bell, captain, and team members Brad Bell, Andy Meunier, Ben Meunier, Matt McCormick, and Chris Shaheen, with alternate Carol Abela.

The Ball Breakers were thrilled that they were able to defend the championship title, having won the last three years as well.

"We had another exciting tournament and are glad we were able to take home the trophy," said Nunnally. "We won by the skin of our teeth. There were definitely some tough competitors this year, and my hat goes off to them for how well they played."

Bell said, "We had a lot of fun at the Bocce Ball Tournament, proudly representing Coldwell Banker as Boccelicious Since 1906! As a relatively new team, we're thrilled to have taken second place—and after a tiebreaker no less—falling only to the reigning champs. It was a great day of friendly competition, laughter, and community spirit. We're proud to support the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® and its Charitable Foundation. Can't wait to roll again next year!"

Los Gatos-Saratoga District Chair Navneet Parmar said this year's turnout was a big success: "On behalf of our district, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the companies, teams, and individual members who participated in this year's Annual Bocce Tournament. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and community spirit made the event a tremendous success."

"This tournament wouldn't be possible without your support," she continued, "whether through sponsorship, participation or simply cheering from the sidelines. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and new ones too, coming together to share in a day of friendly competition and camaraderie. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making next year's event even better. Until then, thank you once again for being an essential part of SILVAR. A special thanks to events director Jilka Pollack for all her help and support in making this event a success."

A total of eight teams played this year. In addition to the KW Ball Breakers and Coldwell Banker Boccelicious Since 1906, other worthy contending teams and their captains were: Montalvo Sons-a-Bocces, Ismar Maslic; eXp eXpectional Ballers, Tracey McNeely; Compass Rolling Realtors, Suzanne Yost; The Agency Red; Jeff Barnett; The Real Bocce Experts; Audrey Carlos Quiggins; and Sereno Bocce is for Closers; Mark Thomas.

Net proceeds from the event will go to the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation.
