At the Los Altos-Mountain View District holiday breakfast at Los Altos Golf & Country Club, 2017 District Chair Kathryn Tomaino thanked members for supporting the District with their attendance at monthly meetings and generosity at events and fundraisers, likes the bi-annual legal update and annual pumpkin auction.

SILVAR's Menlo Park-Atherton District celebrated the holidays and the year's achievements with a Happy Hour at Vina Enoteca in Palo Alto yesterday. District Chair Young Jacob thanked everyone for their support all year. Jacob said she wanted members to mingle in a more casual and relaxed setting.

Ryan Nunnally, a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Bay Area Estates, was installed on Wednesday night as 2018 chair of SILVAR's Los Gatos-Saratoga District. More than 90 SILVAR members and guests attended the District's annual Holiday Reception and Installation held at La Rinconada Golf & Country Club in Los Gatos. The evening also gave members an opportunity to celebrate the year's achievements and welcome the holiday season.

SILVAR and FAREPA SV (Filipino American Real Estate Professional Association Silicon Valley) hosted a delegation from the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders' Associations, Inc. (CREBA) on Tuesday. The members of CREBA then gave a presentation to members on the business of real estate in the Philippines.

Members of the Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® joined 20,000 REALTORS® and guests from around the world at the 2017 National Association of REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Chicago November 3-6. The conference, themed "The Sky's The Limit," focused on education, advocacy and opportunity, and featured more than 300 speakers at sessions on a broad range of real estate issues, including brokerage management, innovation and business technology, affordability issues, commercial markets, international real estate transactions, and tax reform's potential impact on real estate.

SILVAR pumpkin auctions signal the beginning of the holiday season and the spirit of giving for members. Last Friday, more than 50 SILVAR members attended the Los Altos/Mountain View District Pumpkin Auction held at Hillview Community Center in Los Altos. District Chair Kathryn Tomaino dressed for the occasion in a skeleton suit. She even went all out this year by decorating the breakfast in a festive Halloween theme, with such delicacies like "O-Negative Band-Aid Blood…a flavor everyone can enjoy."

At Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza restaurant on Wednesday, Los Gatos/Saratoga District Chair Mary Kay Groth, donned in a black wig and eyeglasses, welcomed about 60 members to the District's annual pumpkin auction. Groth conveyed special thanks to event organizers Jo Preston and Diane Chandler who have contributed numerous auction items through the years, many made by them. It was also Chandler's birthday, so members sang and surprised her with a birthday cake.
