Over 100 SILVAR members attended the Los Altos-Mountain View District Holiday Breakfast held last Friday at Los Altos Golf & Country Club. Members thoroughly enjoyed Christmas carols sang by elementary students from St. Simon Parish School.

The Cupertino-Sunnyvale District celebrated the holidays and another year of accomplishments yesterday. Members filled SILVAR's training room, which was festively decorated by the District's affiliates and they enjoyed a special breakfast, with lots of laughter and gift giving.

At SILVAR's Los Gatos-Saratoga District Holiday Reception & Installation held Wednesday at Saratoga Country Club, members celebrated the holidays and the year's achievements with a special breakfast and musical entertainment, followed by the longtime District tradition of passing the gavel on to the new District Chair.

SILVAR Executive Officer Paul Cardus shared much good news with members at Tuesday's Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® General Membership Meeting held at the Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club. SILVAR continues to see an increase in membership, remodeling of its new building is underway and, best of all for members, Cardus announced SILVAR will not be raising member dues again next year. Thanks to the wisdom and judgment of SILVAR's Budget & Finance Committee, SILVAR maintains a solid financial footing, supported largely by wise investments which have allowed the Association to keep dues unchanged since 2002.

The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS® Global Business Council (SILVAR GBC) was presented the DIAMOND Global Achievement Program Award for 2018 by the National Association of REALTORS® at the REALTORS® Conference & EXPO in Boston. SILVAR President Bill Moody and Executive Officer Paul Cardus accepted the award on behalf of the GBC from NAR Global Business and Alliances Committee Chair Mario Arriaga during the International Night Out dinner last Saturday.

Los Gatos-Saratoga District topped last year's proceeds at its annual Pumpkin Auction this week, raising $7,000 for the Family Giving Tree for Operation Reindeer. California Association of REALTORS® 2005 President and District Chair-elect Jim Hamilton was able to encourage members to be generous this year and think of the children.

Los Altos-Mountain View District's 6th Annual Pumpkin Auction last Friday did not disappoint members this year. The event was festive with some members dressed in costumes and many auction items – 17 in all from companies and individuals. The crowd was engaged and didn't hesitate to raise their paddles when egged on by auctioneer and District Chair-elect Greg Boudreau. The District raised $5,500 for the Silicon Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, thanks to the generous donors and bidders, including members who donated to the Charitable Foundation without expecting an auction item in return.

Oktoberfest Happy Hour at Steins Beer Garden in Cupertino took off to a good start yesterday, as members from SILVAR's five districts flocked to the outdoor event, some dressed in festive attire to mark the occasion.
